Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)
The situation in the wizarding world worsens with each passing day. Voldemort and his followers are "attacking on all fronts."
Harry Potter's coming of age is approaching, after which he will lose the protection that was previously provided to him at the Dursleys' house. To move Harry to a safe place, his friends carry out a clever operation. At the same time, seven Potters leave the house, each transformed by Polyjuice Potion (each with their own companion). The real Harry rides a motorcycle with Hagrid. Mad-Eye Moody's worst fears are realized when Death Eaters immediately attack the flying group; a full-scale aerial battle ensues. Ultimately, Harry and his friends reach their destination, but not without losses—Mad-Eye Moody, the owl Buckbeak, and George Weasley lose an ear. Harry wants to leave the Burrow immediately to avoid endangering anyone, but eventually agrees to wait until Bill and Fleur's wedding.
On the eve of the wedding, the Minister of Magic, Scrimgeour, arrives at the Burrow and gives the trio items bequeathed to them by Dumbledore. Ron receives a Deluminator, Hermione a book of tales by the bard Beedle, and Harry the Golden Snitch he caught in his first Quidditch match. Additionally, Harry was bequeathed Godric Gryffindor's sword, but according to the Minister, Dumbledore had no right to will such a valuable relic to anyone, and after the headmaster's death, the sword disappeared from Hogwarts...
The wedding celebration is interrupted when a message arrives that the Ministry of Magic has been taken over by Voldemort's supporters, and Minister Scrimgeour has been killed. Death Eaters appear at the wedding. Hermione grabs Harry and Ron and Disapparates them to a street in London (not forgetting her bag with all the necessary items). The trio decides to sit in a café, where two visitors, who turn out to be Death Eaters, show up. In the ensuing struggle, the friends manage to overpower them, after which they head to 12 Grimmauld Place for shelter.
The next day, while inspecting the house, Harry, Ron, and Hermione find a plaque with the name Regulus Arcturus Black (Sirius's younger brother) on the door of one of the rooms and link it to the initials "R.A.B." from the note in the substituted locket. It becomes clear that both refer to the same person. The friends question Kreacher about the fate of the real Horcrux locket and learn that it was stolen by Mundungus Fletcher. Harry orders Kreacher to find and bring the thief back. Kreacher (with Dobby’s help) completes this task, and Mundungus reveals that the locket was taken by Ministry employee Dolores Umbridge.
Some time later, Harry, Ron, and Hermione use Polyjuice Potion to infiltrate the Ministry. After a series of adventures, they obtain the Horcrux locket but barely escape. Since Yaxley managed to follow them to Grimmauld Place, the friends are forced to live in remote locations in a tent, never staying in one place for long. They cannot destroy the locket, so they take turns carrying it. It soon becomes apparent that the locket is harmful to everyone, especially to Ron (who also sustained injuries during the escape from the Ministry). Eventually, Ron has an argument with the others and leaves.
Harry and Hermione, now alone, decide to visit Godric's Hollow, where Harry's parents lived and where (they believe) Dumbledore might have left Gryffindor’s sword at the home of his acquaintance Bathilda Bagshot. In Godric’s Hollow, they visit the cemetery, where they find the graves of the Potters, and then discover the ruins of their house. There, they are approached by an elderly woman, whom they recognize as Bathilda, and follow her to her house. But this turns out to be a trap: once Harry follows her upstairs, she transforms into Voldemort’s snake, Nagini, and attacks him. Hermione arrives in time to help, and they manage to Disapparate out of the house, but Harry’s wand is broken.
Afterward, while guarding the tent in the forest one night, Harry notices a strange glowing doe that leads him to a small frozen pond, where unexpectedly he finds Gryffindor’s sword at the bottom. After cutting a hole in the ice, Harry dives in, but the chain from the locket starts to strangle him, and he bangs into the ice, unable to free himself. Ultimately, Ron appears out of nowhere and retrieves the sword. Harry suggests they destroy the locket right away, but an entity within the locket begins to torment Ron, showing him disturbing scenes and trying to stir feelings of jealousy toward Harry. However, Ron finds the strength to destroy the Horcrux with the sword. The friends return to the tent, where Hermione angrily confronts her boyfriend. Ron explains that he would have returned sooner but didn’t know how, and in the end, it was the Deluminator that Dumbledore bequeathed to him that helped.
Hermione decides to visit Luna's father to investigate a symbol that has recently appeared on the pendant Luna wore to Bill and Fleur's wedding, in the book of tales received from Dumbledore, and on a gravestone in Godric’s Hollow. Xenophilius tells them that this is the symbol of the Deathly Hallows (the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Invisibility Cloak), which is mentioned in one of the tales. However, Mr. Lovegood is convinced that the story is true, and the Hallows were owned by the Peverell brothers—Antioch, Cadmus, and Ignotus (whose gravestone was in Godric’s Hollow).
Harry, Ron, and Hermione prepare to leave the Lovegood house, but Xenophilius blocks their way. It turns out he plans to turn Harry over to the Death Eaters in exchange for his captured daughter. The trio manages to Disapparate, but they soon run into bounty hunters who capture them and drag them to Malfoy Manor, hoping to make a profit from their prisoners. At the last moment, Hermione manages to alter Harry's appearance, but despite this, the inhabitants of the manor suspect that they have actually captured Harry and his friends and plan to call Voldemort. However, Bellatrix notices the sword of Gryffindor, which one of the bounty hunters had taken from the trio, and starts to panic. She orders the prisoners to be sent to the basement, except Hermione, who is interrogated about how they managed to steal the sword from Gringotts and whether they took anything else.
In the basement, Harry, in desperation, searches through his belongings and notices someone’s eye in Sirius's Mirror and calls for help. As a result, Dobby appears, and at Harry’s request, first Disapparates to rescue Luna and Ollivander, then returns. Peter Pettigrew comes down from upstairs and opens the door to investigate the noise. Taking advantage of this, Harry and Ron escape the basement and rush to help Hermione (who has the word "Mudblood" carved into her arm). A fight ensues, but Bellatrix, holding a knife to Hermione's throat, forces the friends to surrender. Meanwhile, Dobby drops a chandelier from above and helps Harry disarm the inhabitants of the house. After that, the house-elf Disapparates with all the remaining prisoners, but at the last moment, Bellatrix manages to throw her knife, which hits Dobby. After arriving at a safe place near the Shell Cottage, Harry watches Dobby die but can do nothing...
Meanwhile, Voldemort learns that the last owner of the supposedly invincible Elder Wand (which he had been searching for) was Dumbledore, and that he was buried with it. The Dark Lord enters Hogwarts, opens Dumbledore's tomb, and takes the wand for himself, hoping it will make him even more powerful.
